Commercial medicine name: IodantipirinApproved by Pharmacological committee of Ministry of Health of Russia “20” December 2001 ser. № 18 Chemical name: 1- phenyl-2, 3-dimerthyl-4iodpyrazolon Medical form: tablets Description: white-color tablets with faint specific odor. Composition: each tablet contains 100mg 1- phenyl-2, 3-dimerthyl-4iodpyrazolon. Additional substances: starch, glucose crystalline hydrated, magnesium stearate, low-molecular polyvinylpyrrolodone. Pharmacological group: antiviral medicine. Pharmacological properties. Pharmacodynamics: medicine posesses anti - inflammatory, immune stimulating and interferonogenic properties, stabilizes biological membranes and delays virus penetration in cells. It is an active inductor of alpha and beta interferones, stimulates cellular and humoral immunity. Antiviral activity manifests to a most extent towards virus of tick-borne encephalitis, hemorrhagic fever with nephritic syndrome, viruses of vesicular stomatitis, influenza and parainfluenza. Pharmacokinetics: quickly absorbed from alimentary tract, bioaccessibility comes to 80%, up to 95 % metabolyzes in liver, excretion carries out through kidneys by active transportation in nephritic canals: 3-5% remains in invariable state, 80-90% are non -active metabolites. For cure and prevention of tick – borne encephalitis. For cure: • 0.3g (3 tablets) – 3 times a day during first two days; • 0.2g (2 tablets) – 3 times a day during the next two days; • 0.1g (1 tablets) – 3 times a day during the next five days; For prevention: 1. in case of tick sting: • 0.3g (3 tablets) – 3 times a day during first two days; • 0.2g (2 tablets) – 3 times a day during the next two days; • 0.1g (1 tablets) – 3 times a day during the next five days; 2. in case of probable tick sting: • 0.2g (2 tablets) –once a day during the whole period; • 0.2g (2 tablets) – 3 times a day in period of two days before visiting places of probable tick whereabouts; For complex cure of hemorrhagic fever with nephritic syndrome. Medicine should be prescribed during first 5 days from the illness beginning. • 0.2g (2 tablets) – 3 times a day during the next four days, then, 0.1g (1 tablets) – 3 times a day during the next five days. Side effects: Iodantipyrin possesses low toxicity without any mutagenetic, embryotoxic, immunotoxic and allergenic effects, it is easy to bear; rarely dermatological rash, itch, angioneurotic oedema and other allergic reactions may occur. In simultaneous use of iodantipyrin with peroral anti-diabetic medicines, barbiturates, tricyclic antidepressants, anticoagulants of indirect action, iodantipyrin intensifies their activity and replaces them from connection with albumen. Synchronous use of iodantipyrin with anti-tick immunoglobulin against tick-borne encephalitis is not recommended. In case of nidal forms of tick-borne encephalitis at first specific immunoglobulin is prescribed, and after 2-3 days, it is recommended to use iodantipirin in stated dosage. Package: tablets 100mg in backing bottles, 50 pieces in carton, 10 tablets in contour nuclear or non nuclear pack, 5 contour packs in carton pack. Storing conditions: list B.
